The halo effect
This is the tendency to let a candidate's positive attributes or qualities overshadow their negative attributes or qualities. For example, if a candidate has a great personality or impressive education, we may be more likely to overlook their lack of relevant experience or skills. The halo effect can cause us to make biased or inaccurate hiring decisions, and it can lead us to overlook qualified candidates who may not fit our preconceived notions of what a successful candidate should be like.
