This is the tendency for people in a group or team to conform to the dominant opinions, assumptions, or beliefs of the group, and to suppress or ignore dissenting or alternative views. For example, if a group of hiring managers all agree on a certain candidate or hiring decision, they may be more likely to go along with the consensus and to suppress any doubts or concerns that they may have individually. The groupthink bias can cause teams to make biased or uniformed hiring decisions, and it can lead them to overlook valuable or diverse perspectives or options in the hiring process.
