Confirmation bias
This is the tendency to seek out and interpret information that supports our existing beliefs about a candidate, while ignoring or discounting information that contradicts them. Confirmation bias can lead us to focus on a candidate's strengths and overlook their weaknesses, and it can make us less open to alternative candidates or perspectives.
