Availability heuristic
This is the tendency to base our judgments and decisions on the information that is most readily available to us, even if it is not representative or accurate. The availability heuristic can lead us to overestimate the likelihood of a candidate's success based on a single piece of information, such as a high GPA or impressive resume, and it can make us overlook important information or evidence that is less accessible or memorable.
