The bias blind spot
This is the tendency to recognize the biases of other people, but not our own biases. For example, if we see other people making hiring decisions based on stereotypes or assumptions, we may be more likely to criticize or correct them, while if we make the same mistakes, we may be more likely to justify or defend ourselves. The bias blind spot can cause us to be unaware or dismissive of our own biases in the hiring process, and it can make us less open to feedback, self-reflection, or improvement.
