This is the tendency to believe something is true or important based on the repetition or prominence of the information, rather than on its accuracy or validity. For example, if a candidate has a certain quality or characteristic that is often emphasized in job advertisements or recruitment literature, we may be more likely to believe that it is a crucial requirement for the job, even if it is not. The availability cascade can cause us to make biased or irrational hiring decisions, and it can lead us to overlook qualified candidates who may not fit the common or popular stereotypes or expectations.
